June 7..........1876
Dear Diary,
I can't believe I lost you for that long! I lost you in the library, well, that's what Mary had said.
"Kase, you need to keep track of your things!" Mary said this morning, "I found your book in the library. I guess you lost it when you went to lunch. Of, course, I didn't read it."
"Thanks, Mary," I took my book from her.
"Kasey, you lost your diary? I would die if I lost mine!" Kalli looked terrified. Kalli is, like, really secretive, sort of. She would die if anyone found out what color her socks were. By the way, they're white. Always white. Just like the rest of us.
Every maid gets a diary. It says our name at the top. Once you get your "Career Name", you get it engraved under your original name and extra pages. I'll be getting mine on June 15th.
Now, I haven't told you much about what we look like. So, I'll just do a list.
Me- Kasey Gardner. Long Brown hair, brown eyes. In the middle of short and tall. 9 years old. Fearless.
Mary Green- Short blonde hair, kind of in a bob, green eyes. Tall. 9 years old. Perfect.
Kalli Lu-set- Orange hair, always in two braids, green eyes, freckles and short. 6 years old. Fearful.
Josie to Sew- Short brown hair, freckles and brown eyes, Tall, Career is the tailor, a good friend for advice, 15 years old, Wise.
Jen is Head Maid- Short brown hair, brown eyes, Tall, Career is Head Maid, 28 years old. Annoying and Strict!
Blue Jay- He, um, I have no description of him.
Queen Juzelle- Blonde, Tall, blue eyes, Queen, (don't know age)
I must go now, I have a feeling something's going to happen in the next few days. I don't know what, but something is going to happen with Blue Jay. I feel it in my bones.
